Inventory of Documents from the
Craster Station of H.M. Coastguard
These documents were stored in the office of the Coastguard garage attached to the northern wall of the Coastguard Cottages in Craster. This station is about to merge with Boulmer and it is planned to open new premises for a joint station on a site near Craster Tower. This was seen as a good opportunity to secure the material for the local community. The documents were handed over to the Local History Group in the spring of 2011 in anticipation of the closure of the Craster premises, with a view to them being passed to the County Archive at Woodhorn.

The image in the Archive menu was taken from this photographs from Ella Gregory's family album. The seated figure is her grand-father, who came to Craster in 1906 as the chief coastguard. The coastguard cottages at the top of Whin Hill are in the background
